June – August
On our tour Hiking Across Nuussuaq Peninsula you will hike, discover areas rich in wildlife, fish arctic char, sail to a big glacier and learn more about the history of Greenland. You’ll also do a city tour and even meet Santa’s Summer House!
Our Hiking Across Nuussuaq Peninsula tour will start sailing from Ilulissat to Saqqaq while enjoying a fun ride. After arriving, we’ll start preparing ourselves for the expedition to make sure we have everything we need.
In the morning, we’ll start hiking from Saqqaq towards Nuussuaq, where we’ll be exploring this beautiful area for the following days and if we are lucky, maybe even see wild animals there!
Finally, after spending time in nature hiking across Nuussuaq, we will arrive to Eqaluit. As soon as we get there, we will start setting up our camping gear (to camp for a day) and start fishing Arctic char. Then, we will sail to the big glacier “Qajaraq” and head back to Uummannaq for another adventure.
To finish our tour Hiking Across Nuussuaq, we are going to take you on a city walk tour while you learn about Greenland history. You’ll meet our sled dogs and go on a small hike until we reach Santa’s summer house!
During the summer you’ll experience sun and temperatures up to 20ºC almost every day. However, we always recommend to dress in layers even in this season because the temperature can drop, especially in the water and shadow. For this reason, we thought you would find useful to have a guide with recommendations of what to pack for your summer adventure in Greenland (clothing and essential items).
So, feel free to download it and start planning your trip with us!
