Hiking over Nussuaq Peninsula - Ilulissat / Uummannaq
On this tour, you will be hiking in the footsteps of Knud Rasmussen, the famous Polar Researcher. He was the first
European to cross the Northwest Passage via dog sled. And he did it a lot here too, when he was on his way to Uummannaq, to visit his friends.
In Nussuaq you can find polar foxes, rabbits and if you are lucky even polar bears! There’s also a mountain that we call “Caribou Mountain” because there are a lot of them, so you could find a lot of caribous there too!
Iqaluit in Inuktitut means “place of many fish” a reference to the Arctic char, which thrives there. Get ready because on this tour, you will be able to go to Iqaluit and fish them!
Can you believe that on top of all these, you will also be able to see where the big icebergs are formed?
Yes, that’s included on this tour too! .
